A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep. This page lists every cookie this site can set, what it is for, and how to change your mind.
What we set
Essential — always on
These are not really cookies at all. They are two values kept in your browser's own storage, on your device, and never sent to us or to anyone else.
- itl-theme — remembers whether you chose light or dark mode. Kept until you clear your browser data.
- itl-consent — remembers your answer on this page, so you are not asked on every visit. Kept for 12 months, then we ask again.
There is nothing to switch off here. Without them the site would forget your theme and would ask about cookies on every single page.
Analytics — your choice
Google Analytics 4, property G-YRLML64269. It counts visits so we can
see which pages are useful.
- _ga — tells one browser apart from another, so two visits from the same device are not counted as two people. Expires after 2 years.
- _ga_YRLML64269 — keeps the state of the current visit. Expires after 2 years.
These cookies do not carry your name, email address or phone number, because the site never gives them any. Advertising features, ad personalisation and Google Signals are switched off on this property, so the data is not used to target you.
Third-party — only on the Contact page
The Contact page embeds a Google Map so you can find the factory. Google may set its own cookies through that map, under Google's own terms, which we do not control. Every other page on this site has no third-party embed.
Whether analytics is on before you choose
This depends on where you are, because the law is not the same everywhere.
- In the EU, EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland — nothing is stored until you choose. Analytics stays off until you accept it. This is what the ePrivacy rules and the UK PECR require, and it is what Google's own consent policy requires of us.
- Everywhere else, including Uganda — analytics is on when you arrive, the notice tells you so, and one click switches it off. Uganda's Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019 allows us to rely on a legitimate interest for simple, non-identifying visit counting, provided we tell you plainly and let you object. That is what the notice does.
We are not trying to be clever about this. We would rather say exactly what the rule is in your country than pretend one rule fits everybody.
Changing your mind
Use the button above, or the Cookie settings link at the bottom of any page. Switching analytics off does two things at once: it stops any further data being sent, and it deletes the analytics cookies already on your device.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or turn on Do Not Track. Browser controls work regardless of anything on this page.
