Privacy Policy
What happens to information when you use this website — written plainly, and describing what the site actually does.
Last updated: 2 September 2026
This policy explains what happens to information when you use imperialtissue.com. It describes what this website actually does, not what a website of this kind usually does.
The short version: this is a brochure site. There is no account to create, no login, no shopping basket and no database of visitors. The forms on this site do not send anything to us on their own — they open your own email programme with a message already written, and nothing reaches us unless you press send yourself.

What we collect, and why
Things you type into a form
The enquiry form, the contact form, the order planner and the sales chat all work the same way. What you type stays in your browser. When you finish, the page opens a new message in your own email programme, addressed to us, with your details filled in. You can read it, change it, or close it. If you never press send, we never see it.
When you do send it, we receive it as an ordinary email. We use it to answer you and to keep a record of the enquiry. Our mail is hosted by our hosting provider on servers outside Uganda.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages people read. This tells us that a page was opened, roughly where in the world from, what kind of device was used and how the visitor arrived. It does not tell us who you are, and we do not use it for advertising. Advertising features, ad personalisation and Google Signals are switched off.
Analytics uses cookies. Whether they are set before you choose depends on where you are, and you can change your mind at any time. The Cookie Policy sets this out in full, and the are always one click away.
Server logs
Our web server keeps a standard access log: the IP address that made the request, the date and time, the page requested, the result, and the browser's user-agent string. This is how the server is kept secure and how faults are found. These logs are kept for 14 days and then deleted automatically. They are not combined with anything else and they are not used to build a profile.
Things kept on your own device
Two small values are stored in your browser and never sent anywhere:
- itl-theme — whether you chose light or dark mode.
- itl-consent — your cookie choice, so we do not keep asking.
Clearing your browsing data removes both.
Other companies involved
Loading a page on this site means your browser also contacts a small number of other services. Each of them can see your IP address, because that is how the internet delivers a file. They are:
- Amazon Web Services — hosts this website. The server is in Mumbai, India.
- Google Fonts — supplies the two typefaces used on every page.
- Cloudflare cdnjs — supplies the icon set used on every page.
- Google Analytics — counts visits, as described above.
- Google Maps — only on the Contact page, where the map is embedded. Google may set its own cookies through that map.
Links to Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, WhatsApp and similar are ordinary links. Nothing is loaded from them until you click, and this policy does not cover what happens once you leave.
What we do not do
- We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. Ever.
- We do not run advertising or retargeting pixels on this site.
- We do not have a newsletter list, and we do not add enquirers to one.
- We do not use automated decision-making or profiling.
- We do not knowingly collect information from children.
How long we keep things
- Server logs — 14 days, then deleted automatically.
- Analytics — Google retains event data for 14 months, then deletes it.
- Emails you send us — for as long as the business relationship or enquiry needs, and after that for as long as Ugandan tax and company law requires us to keep records.
Your rights
Under Uganda's Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019, you may ask us what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, object to how we are using it, or withdraw a consent you gave. If you are in a country with its own data protection law, such as the EU or UK GDPR, you have equivalent rights and we will honour them.
Write to info@imperialtissue.com. We will reply within 30 days. There is no charge. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Personal Data Protection Office of Uganda, or to the data protection authority where you live.
Security
The whole site is served over HTTPS, so the connection between your browser and our server is encrypted. There is no visitor database to breach, because we do not keep one. Email we receive is protected by the ordinary access controls of our mail provider.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will change the date at the top. If a change affects what we do with your information in a way that matters, we will say so on the site rather than change it quietly.
